Recently, Hilong Group has successfully completed the emergency supply assurance and delivery of drill pipes for CNPC Offshore Engineering’s integrated service project at the Amistad Gas Field in Ecuador. All materials were delivered on schedule to the shipyard dock in Weihai, Shandong, by September 2, ensuring the project could kick off as planned.

The project began with a letter of award issued by Petroecuador to CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering’s Ecuador branch on July 24 of this year. This award signifies the successful bid by CNPC Offshore Engineering and CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering for the integrated well intervention services project at this gas field, representing a significant breakthrough for both parties in Ecuador’s offshore oil and gas service market. In response, CNPC Technical Services Company sent a congratulatory letter, recognizing the project as CNPC Offshore Engineering’s first entry into the marine wellbore technical services market in the Americas. 

Taking on this important task, CNPC Offshore Engineering quickly moved ahead with project preparations. On July 24, the day they secured the bid, they immediately placed a drill pipe purchase order with Hilong Group, specifying delivery at the designated location by September 2. Confronted with a tight 40-day timeline and high requirements, Shanghai Hilong Drill Pipe, as the primary executing party, prioritized the task and immediately initiated a special supply assurance mechanism. Management quickly organized a special deployment meeting to clarify departmental responsibilities and timelines. Various departments collaborated effectively: the raw material procurement team expanded their sourcing channels and enforced strict quality controls to guarantee timely and compliant material availability; the production department worked closely with the technical team to optimize process solutions and monitor production progress continuously; and the logistics team planned transportation routes in advance and enhanced coordination with all stakeholders for efficient operations. Throughout the supply assurance process, Shanghai Hilong Drill Pipe, Shanghai Tube-Cote (responsible for coatings), and the logistics team achieved seamless collaboration, successfully completing all tasks of this challenging mission.
